We’re moving into the last months of the year, which means it’s gala season. Everyone will have their year-end fetes over the next six-ish weeks, and it started last night in New York with the first of double-header galas: the Time100 Next Gala. There were a lot of young stars there, which makes sense as the gala celebrates TIME’s list of 100 rising stars.

First up, Yerin Ha closing out her breakout year which began with Bridgerton season four.

Like Yerin Ha, Curry Barker had a big year with the runaway success of Obsession. Now, in a wide-open Oscar year, we have to see how much momentum Obsession can sustain, and if it will be enough to overcome the Academy’s genre bias.

Raye was also there, sort of blending into the red carpet and photo wall:

Joey King stood out more in pastel green, but the dress is too many textures. Pick one texture. The draped chiffon-type fabric would have been nice all over!

There were a pair of TV ladies, too, with Sarah Pidgeon rocking a navy suit like a tech executive ready to sell out the women working for her in order to secure her bag:

And The Pitt star Isa Briones wearing whatever this is:

It’s been a busy year for Isa Briones. Besides starring in season two of The Pitt—and now filming season three—she also starred in the Bobby Darin jukebox musical Just in Time with Jonathan Groff on Broadway earlier this year. The fact that Trinity Santos is played by a musical theater nerd is never not amazing to me. Briones brings NONE of that energy to Santos. I wish people gave her more credit for her performance, but people hate Santos too much to be reasonable.

As you may know, whatever Sombr is, is not my business, so I thought this was Dominic Sessa at first:

But then Dominic Sessa actually showed up.

You will simply never convince me these are two separate people. This is one person. You may argue that they appeared in the same place at the same time and thus must be separate entities, but I simply will not hear it. That is one guy. There is one tall, young white guy with curly black hair and his name is Dominic Sombr.

Finally, Cooper Hoffman, who stars in Artificial, was also there, looking like he picked his clothes off his bedroom floor. I will never stan a man making no effort when women are in uncomfortable shoes, full makeup, and tight dresses. At least pretend like an effort was made. Joey King did not hoik her boobs up for you to not even try!
