Out of all the celebrity events happening this week around the world, this is the one I would have wanted to be at the most: W Korea’s Love Your W 20th anniversary gala in support of breast cancer awareness.

Dozens of idols and drama stars were there and also… three out of the seven members of BTS: RM, j-hope, and V, also known interchangeably (in order) as Joon, Hobi, and Tae.

This is how it always is in a group, right? Not all of us love the party, some are more introverted than others. And no one is all the way on the spectrum of introversion and extroversion. Joon, Hobi, and Tae however are definitely more likely to show up on the scene than the others in comparison to, say, Suga who is a phantom (we love this about him).

In terms of global awareness, among the stars who were at the event, of course RM, Hope, and V were the highest profile guests. And for me, as ARMY, what’s notable about seeing them there together, and so visible, like they are allll over W Korea’s IG page, is that it wasn’t always like this, especially before they enlisted. For a decade there, during BTS’s first chapter and years of steady album releases alongside variety show filming and tours etc etc etc, there was simply no time to… well… socialise in the style of a celebrity. Success is complicated, there is a downside, obviously, but there can be upsides. One of those upsides for BTS is that they’ve been able to have autonomy in both their creative expression and their personal time management.

Right now, as we know, they are working on their comeback album and RM has talked about the pressure, the expectation. There is no doubt that they’ve been diligent about the launch of the band’s next phase, but as a fan, I’m happy to see that they get some downtime too. And the result of that is that we get to see them out in the wild hanging out with their peers…

Although Tae should probably be more responsible with how he chooses to conduct himself because, sir, this open shirt is malfunctioning the internet.

Speaking of how Tae is wearing his shirt though, he had the highest media impact value during Paris Fashion Week earlier this month when he attended the Celine show and also modelled a new style hack straight off the runway: how to wear your cardigan.

This is from his Instagram – note the buttons.

This is how many of the cardigans were sent down the Celine runway. The cardigan is layered over a turtleneck over the shoulders with only one or two buttons fastened. Half of it sits on the body like you normally would while the other is thrown over the shoulder. The fashion girlies are all over it, something to try in the fall when you can layer knits instead of wearing a coat.

PS. For the K-drama junkies out there (like me!), two of the top (and tallest!) breakout actors of the moment were at Love Your W last night and hanging out together: Byeon Woo-seok and Lee Chae-min.

Lee Chae-min just wrapped up a big run on Bon Appétit, Your Majesty (Netflix) and has for sure soared up the casting wish list and of course Byeon Woo-seok has smartly managed his success off Lovely Runner, not rushing into a drama right away (it’s been a year and a half). He’s currently shooting Wife of a 21st Century Prince with basically the most famous woman in Korea, IU. That drama should premiere next year. Like, sorry, but how can one person be this attractive?!
