What does your algorithm say about you? Busy Philipp’s is grief and face lifts. I get the plastic surgery doctors as well and I don’t know why, I don’t like them! I would never get a facelift from a doctor who needs to get clients by talk about what works celebs have allegedly had done. So cheesy. Right now I get a ton of cooking videos, fashion videos, Real Housewives but also, and this is new, people showing off their messy houses. Like, the mess is the point. I don’t enjoy these videos but, to be fair to Zuckerf-ck, I do watch them.
This morning Lainey wrote an extensive analysis on Gwyneth Paltrow’s return to acting, which coincides with goop’s recent rebrand. The acting is getting a lot of attention but the rebrand? Not so much.
The GWYN launch was fine but I think there is still a huge question mark when it comes to goop’s commerce section – what is it? Luxury, full stop, as a clothing line? Accessible luxury as an e-commerce site? Mass market as a beauty brand? On The Cutting Room Floor podcast, Gwyneth specifically said trying to be everything to everyone is a disaster, which is true in marketing. But I’ve been a follower of goop for years and a shopper a few times and I still don’t quite know what I’m going to get when I visit the site. I don’t think that’s a great sign.
Nooooo, Abby Lee Miller deleted her photo with Neil Patrick Harris. She almost erased his nose, like Voldemort.
I lost it at the “viral book.” In terms of engagement, the satirical influencer videos are doing better than the real thing. Has the snake finally eaten its own tail on Instagram?
January Jones had a pretty fun feed during Covid but in this video, she says her kookiness is on pause and she’s feeling something else. Rage, and lots of it. And she’s sharing that rage.
Screaming crying throwing up – The Comeback is actually coming back! HBO Max (or whatever they are called now) revealed a first look, along with some plot details; Valerie Cherish will be starring in a sitcom written by AI. This is the kind of project Val could very easily do the mental gymnastics to justify. There’s two short seasons, if you haven’t yet I would highly recommend catching up.
