More Bonds, Actually

I put the finishing touches on the post preceding this one about the James Bond casting, focusing on Jack Lowden and Jacob Elordi and Jeff Sneider’s reports. And then The Hollywood Reporter came out with their update. While Jeff was saying earlier this week that testing for Bond has been completed, THR’s sources claim that testing is NOT complete and will in fact continue in London as early as tomorrow and if their sources are right then the new Bond is obviously not a done deal.

According to THR, Jack Lowden is in fact part of it, as is Callum Turner. But Jacob Elordi is NOT. No word on whether or not this means that Jacob is out of the race or if he set the pace that everyone else has to meet or beat but apparently, this round of testing is the most involved with “stunts, camera presence and dialogue” expected.

Speaking of Callum…

He was not in London as of last night. Callum was photographed in New York with Dua Lipa and his mother after dinner and earlier in the day walking their dog. So if he is one of the actors testing in London this weekend per THR, he will probably be returning there today at the latest because his time zone is going to be f-cked. That said, every actor’s process is different, and it doesn’t take away from his preparation that he’s not in London so close to the alleged screen test.

Callum’s name has been in the mix from the very beginning and he’s been asked about it repeatedly, responding with multiple versions of “I’m not talking about this”. He has his supporters though. While Jack Lowden is getting the co-sign from Gary Oldman, Callum’s Oscar-winning assist is coming from George Clooney. This just made me laugh…
