CZJ is doing press too
Interesting timing – Michael Douglas has been promoting his memoir, One Helluva Ride. Every couple of days or so there’s a new revelation, most of it has to do with his sex life. Like how he and Kathleen Turner had an affair while they were filming Romancing the Stone but he was still technically married. And how he had a roster of five women when he and Catherine Zeta-Jones first started dealing with each other and she told him she wouldn’t be interested in joining the rotation so he had to call all of them in different cities to break up with them. These are the stories you can tell when you’re in your 80s, I guess.
But Catherine is also on a press tour. She’s promoting Kill Jackie, a new series in which she plays the title character who people are trying to kill but from the looks of the trailer, in the end Jackie will rule the day. CZJ understands the assignment here – I’m screaming at the scene of her in the hospital bed, with a head injury, and perfect makeup, LOOOOLLLLL.
Of course she’s being asked about her husband’s book during the interviews. So far I’ve only seen her say that she’s been so busy she doesn’t want to read about his life at the end of the night, but she thinks everyone else should read it, which is an excellent answer. That said, I feel like no one has asked the right question yet. Apparently there’s a part in the book where Michael says that Kobe Bryant had a crush on her and would keep finding excuses when they were neighbours to run into CZJ. This is what I want to know more about.
What else happened today…
Anne Hathaway’s movie beat Tom Cruise’s movie at the box office. And now she’s on Team Digger on Letterboxd telling people to go see it. I wonder if more and more actors will be riding for Digger behind the scenes in solidarity against the reviews and some of the weirdly petty press coverage. (Pajiba)
An unexpected outfit on Sydney Sweeney. Isn’t working for me. (Go Fug Yourself)
Meghan Sussex and Malala Yousafzai had dinner in London. (Celebitchy)
Something wholesome that’s gone viral this week: what school teachers in Brooklyn are wearing… very chic but also very practical. (The Cut)
Duana is our resident celebrity memoir expert and also child star expert and I guarantee she’ll be reading Christy Carlson Romano’s memoir, The Rise and Fall of a Child Star. (Marie Claire)
