Love this now annual feature from in The Hollywood Reporter: profiles of the 20 top celebrity stylists. It might take you a few minutes to go through all of them but I promise, if you’re into this sort of thing, and I think you might be if you’re reading my blog, there’s a lot of gold here...and material for the Faculty Of Celebrity Studies too. Because, as noted in the article, a series of great dresses put together by a savvy stylist can really elevate a career; in some cases, a great dress or two can land a star a cosmetic contract which she means, with that added cash, she can afford to pass on a sh-tty script or two and wait for the right project ...to say nothing of the obvious branding benefits that come with becoming a fashion star. After all, the standalone “actor” is an endangered species; “product” is the more appropriate job description.

A few quick observations before you go off and enjoy it for yourself:

-Michelle Williams used Natalie Portman’s stylist this year during campaign season, another very obvious indication of how bad she really wanted it

-WHY are Katie Holmes and Jeanne Yang included on this list???

-Gwyneth Paltrow’s stylist Elizabeth Saltzman only styles Gwyneth Paltrow. You’ll note, everyone else has multiple celebrity clients.

-Ummm... check out Jen Rade who dresses Angelina Jolie. Click here. Specifically the hair. I think...that explains a LOT, don’t you?
