See? This is what I was wondering about when lockdown first started! Beauty upkeep! And no, not haircuts and colouring your roots, but the face, as in Botox. We’re almost two months into restrictions which means we could be coming up on having to go back in for tweaks, only it’s obviously not an “essential service”, though certain people’s definition of what’s “essential” might not be what you’d consider “essential”. Still, I’m not laughing. I’m about due for a facial. And, as I’ve been saying for the last couple of years, I’m getting closer and closer to getting some sh-t done myself. Maybe as soon as we get busted out of this. (Dlisted)
Today is Prince William and Catherine’s ninth wedding anniversary. Oh the memories! I was there, stationed at the Duke of York Column along The Mall reporting live for CTV. I saw the carriage go by on its way to Buckingham Palace. There were SO many people. Afterwards it was an all-night party. Hard to imagine now. Will people ever line the streets again for a major royal wedding? Will they want to or will they just stay at home and watch so as not to be jammed up against each other? (Go Fug Yourself)
How’s this for anniversary timing? While Will and Kate celebrate nine years of marriage, Meghan Markle popped up online today. This Zoom chat happened in March and was only posted now. Coincidence or conspiracy? (Cele|bitchy)
Reunions are happening everywhere! The latest: The Fresh Prince of Bel Air! You’re thinking what I’m thinking, right? Of course the original Aunt Viv wasn’t there. Will there ever be a day when a reunion might include her? Both Aunt Vivs? (TMZ)
Nostalgia was big even before the pandemic, and that’s turned up extra now. Which is one of the reasons why the Verzuz battles have been so entertaining. But also… it’s just GREAT music. And, as Kiana Fitzgerald writes in this piece for Nylon, a “lesson in rap canon”. (Nylon)
