Brooklyn Beckham with the classic celebrity birthday wish, big brother edition. Cruz is literally in his shadow.
I have been following the Kelly Rowland/Today Show dressing room drama and would like Lainey to weigh in here as she works in TV. Walking out on a morning show because of a dressing room size doesn’t seem like Kelly Rowland to me. There’s never ever been a hint of “do you know who I am” behaviour from her. She grew up in Destiny’s Child, which was like performer bootcamp. They worked hard. That work ethic is ingrained in them. Behind-the-scenes, these types of shows can be chaotic so if Kelly did walk out, there was a reason.
Her rep (who is also Beyoncé’s rep) has released a statement. It’s not defensive, but she makes it clear this is not on Kelly.
Olivia Rodrigo is 21 and starts her world tour this month. Young and on top of the world.
OK I never got into Riverdale but the two stars getting the most career heat right now are Charles Melton and Camila Mendes. And they dated! Of course they did, they are two beautiful people on a TV show. Two adults with amazing bone structure playing teens on a bonkers night time soap, that’s amore.
Deadline has a new series called Hollywood Contraction, which delves into the ripple effect of cost-cutting measures. This article on aspiring actors is so interesting because it’s already a nearly-impossible feat to become a working actor but add to it the significant cuts and it is much, much worse now than it was five years ago. One number that really puts it in perspective: typically there are 100 or so pilots casting for network TV each season. This year? There are three (all at NBC). Not only are new shows not being made, but great shows are being canceled. (Two that have burned me recently: Reboot and The Afterparty – neither were on network TV, but they could be.)
