Coachella starts this weekend and it’s not the cultural event it once was but that’s not to say it can’t rise again – it takes one viral moment, one big appearance, one surprise. 

In Justin Bieber news, he has severed ties with Drew House pretty dramatically on Instagram. He is in Palm Springs, the Biebers have a place there and he spends a lot of time golfing; maybe he will put in an appearance at Coachella. 

 

There’s a video of him “freaking out” at the paparazzi outside of a coffee shop. I know the area where he is quite well and have been to this coffee shop – Palm Springs is not a paparazzi hot spot. They are only there to take pictures of him and didn’t even have cameras, just phones. His frustration is understandable. There’s been some coverage about the alleged coordinated attack against Hailey and I would not be surprised if this extends to Justin. Besides the subset of a certain fandom that is extremely toxic, it’s like people want him to be in a bad place. And he is suing his former management and has severed relationships with some powerful people. 

 

As for the “freak out” – ummmmm. Sean Penn and Alec Baldwin have freaked out at paps. I think Ben Affleck kicked one once. Emma Stone carried a sign that she was being harassed when she was with Andrew Garfield. Julia Roberts pulled over on a road to chastise one for dangerously following her with her kids. I can’t even list the ones who have told them to f-ck off or flipped them the bird, it’s nearly everyone. And who can forget Hugh Grant throwing baked beans at photographers. Celebrities may have to live with it but they don’t have to like it. 

 

New Lorde incoming? Her Instagram is wiped and she’s teased new music. There are rumours that she might join Charli XCX’s set at Coachella… 

 

Lana Del Rey has released a new single in anticipation of her upcoming country album. This post has over 3.5 million likes and as someone who watches engagement, this is very high.

 

In absolutely rotten news, Eric Dane has announced he has been diagnosed with ALS. He is returning to film Euphoria’s final season.
