Mindy Kaling has announced the birth of her third child and I had no idea, I don’t think anyone outside of her circle had a clue.

Not sure how she does it because skipping red carpet events (like the Vanity Fair Oscar party) is one thing, but completely avoiding paps and working on set is another. She has a good team around her.

Carol Burnett recently had her hand and footprint ceremony at the TLC Chinese Theatre and I assume it’s happening now because she finally said yes. There’s no way this hasn’t been offered to her multiple times. She’s been doing quite a bit of promo for Palm Royale, the entire cast has been showing up for each other at multiple events.

Vanity Fair has a new story about Deadpool & Wolverine and I don’t get this angle at all – how is a $1.5 billion franchise an underdog? Why are we acting like superhero movies are not prioritized by studios? I get it, they need to sell a narrative but is it not enough that Ryan Reynolds has made an empire out of being the “looks directly at camera” guy and Hugh Jackman is pretty beloved? Oh and throw in Blake Lively’s ping pong table which is crucial to the story.

They sound like they are trying to sell an indie movie they made on a shoestring budget in their backyard.

The yearly celebrity migration to Europe is well underway – Gwyneth Paltrow is in Italy (as was JLo) while Reese Witherspoon is visiting Sweden and Denmark. After wrapping The Morning Show she has been fairly quiet and since the acquisition of Hello Sunshine it seems like she’s slowed down, but she really hasn’t. Her book club is going strong, including an audiobook deal with Apple. The club is also tied into producing and the pace at which she’s managed to churn out projects is pretty impressive. Big Little Lies, Little Fires Everywhere, The Morning Show, Daisy Jones and the Six, Tiny Beautiful Things, The Last Thing He Told Me – that’s a full slate and I’m missing a bunch. A lot of books are optioned in Hollywood but few are actually turned into a TV show or film because it’s so freaking hard to get those projects greenlit.

When I think of Reese, I think of work work work, hardly ever gossip. Her divorce came and went quietly and that’s about as far as I know about her in the last five years.
