Concerts are in a weird place right now. Expensive AF. There are some big acts like Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo and then of course Taylor Swift, who has her own Eras economy. But those are heavy hitters. There are also a lot of acts who have run the math and cancelled a tour or cut back on shows, particularly over the summer concert season

Then there’s Shakira, an anomaly who has had to move her concert venues to meet demand. This is a big deal. But with any schedule change, some of the people who already have tickets are peeved, which I get. This is part of why touring is so much pressure for artists: even when it’s going well, some fans will be let down.

This morning, Lainey covered the hottest two couples on the internet. Finally, a Chicken Shop Date. I watched, I smiled. But my Gen X ass was reminded of Bridget Jones. To quote Shazzer, “Exactly. I mean there's been all these bloody hints and stuff, but has he ever actually stuck his f-cking tongue down your f-cking throat?” That’s where I’m at. Kiss you dumb idiots!

You know what I love about this Tyra Banks clip? It is honest. She wore a Vera Wang gown that even Vera Wang didn’t want her to wear. I imagine Vera made that purple gown as a bridal dress, like mother of the bride. Or for her wealthy clients who enjoy that type of gown. But Vera knew it wasn’t for a supermodel at the Oscars.

Jelly Roll must not be on NextDoor. That is the most toxic social media app on the internet, it is like a super Karen theme park. It’s not powerful though. Twitter, TikTok and Meta (I’m counting Facebook and Instagram as a single entity) are the axis of evil. If you could remove one, which would it be?

Eva Mendes has been getting a lot of press this past week, particularly about her disinterest in returning to acting. I think part of that can also be attributed to the “missing middle” Lainey talked about last week. If an actress doesn’t want to do superhero films and doesn’t want to work on a TV show, the mid-budget films are few and far between.
