Today the big story on social media is that there’s less social media – several celebrities are taking part in the Stop the Hate campaign, which Isla Fisher explains below. Her husband Sacha Baron Cohen has been giving Facebook and Zuk the stink eye for years and has used his own platform to turn people against the very platform they are getting the information from, which is meta, I think? I’m kind of too dumb for that conversation but I will say that Sacha and Isla are very well connected and that has certainly helped get the biggest names (like Kate Hudson, Chris Rock, Naomi Campbell, Gwyneth Paltrow) involved. The big coup here is Kim Kardashian: she has more followers than all of those celebrities combined.

This is a very specific interest that I think some of us share in looking at houses in Europe that are selling for next to nothing – sometimes $1 (or equivalent to that). I can spend hours looking at these places and trying to find stories from people who’ve actually done it. Combine that with Sopranos nostalgia (which hit its high during quarantine) and you have a dream combination: My Big Italian Adventure starring Lorraine Bracco on HGTV. Dr. Melfi under the Tuscan sun! (The house is technically in Sicily but you get the vibe.) As the kids say, inject this into my veins.

A few of you wrote in to point out that the Fast Times at Ridgemont High live read screenshot is organized alphabetically. I’ll be honest, I was so hypnotized by Jen and Brad in the same shot I didn’t notice that. I didn’t even notice Ray Liotta, but there he is. I can’t believe I have Dane Cook to thank for all this excitement.

Jessica Simpson is promoting her husband’s new project – is it a podcast? Is he becoming a spiritual guru? If you read Jessica’s memoir (highly recommend) she said that after her first night with Eric, he left in the morning to go to a Marianne Williamson event. That detail stuck with me.

Us Weekly is reporting that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are “stretched to the limit’ during quarantine, which surprised me as they already work and live together. It’s Us Weekly, so the reporting isn’t as solid as it used to be, but if this were true, it’s not like PEOPLE (which has long been a go-to for the couple, especially after he was named Sexiest Man Alive) would report on the situation. If it makes it to PEOPLE, then things are definitely rocky. But even if they are going through it, it’s madness out there – who isn’t? (Lainey: And they’re moving! Is it fair to let your move mood determine the status of your relationship! Moving is the f-cking WORST.)

Have you read Emily Ratajkowski’s essay in The Cut, Buying Myself Back? If not, put it on the list today because it’s insightful work on, in her words, “image, power and consent.” And I don’t think it requires input or think pieces from other people beyond that because it is Emily’s story to analyse. She does her own work.

There was a headline about Noel Gallagher not wearing a mask and Liam posted this – if only it covered his nose, it would be perfect.

This is the only person who should be allowed on Zoom today – big titty bitch, I salute you!
