Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue their PR defence with his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. A safe space for celebrities – breezy and easy. It’s a good choice that pivots him away from speeches.
And the appearance has a subtext, too; he’s free now. The rigid royals wouldn’t be allowed to wear a body cam through a haunted house.
The absolute freakout that is happening in my house about Lana Del Rey reportedly getting married. It’s true, I live with a stan. Thoughts and prayers this weekend. We will get through this! The other big Lana announcement is her appearance at Stage Coach. But why did she get second billing? I find this very odd for such a big artist.
Jenna Dewan posted the infamous “Nicole Kidman after divorce” photo in her stories, as well as a thank you to the universe. She’s celebrating the official end of her marriage from Channing Tatum, which has been quite drawn out because of a dispute over Magic Mike royalties. She’s been engaged to Steve Kazee since 2020 and after this very long and expensive split, I hope the prenup is airtight. No one wants to spend six years getting divorced.
I didn’t know James Corden has a podcast but I did read this story on it because it’s about the big O – Ozempic. It’s impossible to ignore the impact it has had on celebrity bodies, which are marketed to us as high aspirational but also attainable with discipline.
Ozempic is changing the conversation because now, if anyone is not a size 00 the question is, “why don’t they just take Ozempic?” It’s yet another expectation for people who don’t have the quote-unquote ideal body type. Back to James: it didn’t work for him because it didn’t change his relationship with food.
Before Dave Grohl dropped his baby news, I don’t think I’d ever seen a photo of his wife without him. Now she is being papped which is of course directly related to the increased interest in them. But the photos tell us nothing. If she speaks out, I think it will be a short statement after the divorce. As for Dave, he recently cancelled a show (well, the Foo Fighters cancelled but I’m guessing it’s not because of the bass player). It looks like they made a last minute decision, which sucks for ticket holders who were specifically going to see them. And I wonder if the late timing is because of legal and contract issues (this would be a nightmare for the organizers), or if he was seriously considering doing it up until the last minute and couldn’t face the crowd. And yes, I’ve read all the “Dave Grohl finally pulls out” jokes.
