I’m a bit of a gossipy grump today because nothing is more offensive to a good gossip than bad gossip. First thing this morning, Lainey tagged and bagged the TNT story this morning with the “relationship contract.” To quote Nene Leakes, “This is so stupid!” Even for the anti-Taylors and the anti-TNT, this is beyond a reach.
This is the level of gossip people are accepting on social media?! Open the schools!
You know what I learned from Vanderpump Rules? Well, a lot of things but last season I specifically learned that reality stars take dance lessons just in case they are asked to be on Dancing With the Stars.
Not only that, but the competition to get on is pretty tough and the producers are fairly selective – that’s why Ariana Madix made it on and the rest of the cast was so salty. The latest cast has been announced with a few Olympians in the mix and Bachelorette Jenn Tran. (The Bachelor is an ABC show, so typically that’s a pipeline.) As I said, I don’t watch the show but because of gossip osmosis, I hope Jenn kills it. Her ex seems like a jerk.
Goop hosted a night with Audemars Piguet, a fancy watch brand. This caught my eye because a friend of mine is currently job hunting and she came across goop’s postings – most of the positions in California pay less than a dollar over minimum wage. This is not unusual for lifestyle brands and the price of the products has nothing to do with it. It does not correlate to wages and in fact, the higher-profile the brand, the less they expect to pay people. But who would work there? Well, friends of Apple’s and Gwyneth’s friend’s children and friends of friends and that is how the circle stays tight. The ones who try to break into the industry without support need to find a way to survive on $16.90 an hour and while some do, many are pushed out because of the economic disadvantage.
Karlie Koss has relaunched iD magazine with Charli XCX and Troye Sivan. Strong first choice. The more magazines, the better! (I hope she pays her staff more than $16.90 an hour.)
