Lainey answered a lingering real estate question I had about Gwyneth Paltrow and whether Montecito is a weekend home or her everyday address: she is downsizing but keeping a place in LA proper, which makes sense for Goop and also for Brad Falchuk. 

 

She is not the only one making big moves – Jessica Chastain is selling her sumptuous NYC townhouse. She is not talking about her move or her kids, so there’s the common that gossip that follows real estate news – marriage trouble? I mean, even if there was we wouldn’t know until everything was done and dusted. I don’t even know how many children she has. She and Kerry Washington have really conquered the art of being out and accessible while giving up zero personal information. 

 

Years ago, Sarah Hyland said she was able to end an abusive relationship with help from her on-screen mom Julie Bowen. Since then, Julie has downplayed her involvement, saying she’s just nosey and likes to get involved. This is a great kind of nosey. In a new podcast appearance she says she was just being a responsible adult. Clearly she doesn’t want to expose Sarah’s private business so she moves on quickly. 

 

But out of all of the child actor casts, could it be said that the Modern Family kids are the prototype for not being harmed by fame and success at a young age? Being surrounded by a cast of responsible adults and not creeps seems to work! And I also think it helps that this wasn’t a kids show on a kids network – they weren’t the bread and butter for executives or adults who played minor parts.

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin are starring in a new reality TV show with all of their children. This seems inevitable because they have 7 children (Alec has 8) and that is insanely expensive. Add to that his legal fees and the roles not coming in, along with her no longer being an ambassador of Spanish culture on talk shows, and there’s a cash flow problem. Reality tv doesn’t pay well, but the endorsements that come from the exposure can be lucrative. Alec is not getting hired to rep brands considering, well, everything. Hilaria is the hope here.
