Julia Fox wore D2 to the Elton John AIDS Foundation viewing party and this dress is very Julia but it looks so hard on the nipples. She changed for the Vanity Fair party.
Since everyone has Photoshop and sketchy photos on the brain, let’s take a look at Lauren Sanchez on the Vanity Fair red carpet. She’s wearing a dress by Lever Couture. (Leah Lewis also wore a candy pink dress on the Oscars red carpet.) Lauren can obviously access any dress at any time. She has the means to buy and sell some of these fashion houses. Major purchasing power as well as major influence amongst women in her circle. So how did she end up wearing a fairly unknown designer (in terms of brand recognition) who has only had one runway show at LA fashion week?
Lever Couture has been worn by a few other celebrities but is hardly a household name. It’s incredibly hard for a line to break into this world and get a spot on the red carpet without the backing of a major house.
You might not know Cole Walliser by name but you know his work. He runs the GlamBot which is now a staple on red carpets. Mostly everyone stops for him and the interesting thing to watch is his interactions with celebrities, who listen to him very carefully. He gives a short bit of instruction and then it’s go time. He’s like an interviewer, producer, director and cinematographer in 10 second clips. Considering how hard red carpet bits can be to execute (remember the dreaded mani cam?), he really pulls off the energy needed for the moment. (Lainey: I interviewed him on Saturday! He’s Canadian!)
James Marsden’s first job was on The Nanny and I’m waiting for an internet sleuth to find the clip because I bet he looks exactly the same. Paul Rudd genes.
Ilaria Urbinati is the go-to for men on the red carpet. The Rock, Donald Glover, Chris Evans, Will Arnett, John Krasinski, James Marsden, Barry Keoghan, Billy Eichner, Garrett Hedlund and Ramy Youssef in one night. That’s quite a roster.
