Chapell Roan is in the very early days of fame and the struggle is understandable as she was suddenly everywhere and that must be overwhelming. She’s chosen to cancel some shows, which we’ve seen artists including Justin Bieber, Zayn and Shawn Mendes do over the course of their career. Unlike those three, she did not start out as a teen pop star and has spoken about the control she wields over her choices. But that doesn’t make her immune from pressure and the pressure is always the next album, more show dates, bigger venues – there is no ceiling. Look at Taylor Swift and Beyoncé— they push themselves harder with each album and tour. 

Learning how to say no to what must feel like once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, and being at peace with it, seems like the hard part.

Reese Witherspoon is taking her first crack at writing fiction. She is a book-to-film powerhouse so she knows structure, but I’m curious as to what Reese’s narrative flow is like. Her announcement includes co-author Harlan Coren. Not a ghostwriter, a co-author. 

Lainey wrote about Hedi Slimane’s departure from Celine this morning and they’ve already announced a new creative director: Michael Rider. They really wasted no time. 

Some people own fashion week but in Salma Hayek’s case, she actually owns fashion week because her husband François-Henri Pinault is CEO of Kering which owns brands like Gucci and Saint Laurent. 

I wonder if she’s ever like goddam I want to wear a Givenchy dress, but can’t because it’s owned by rival LMVH. 

Victoria Beckham had a great showing in Paris and continues to be one of the few independent luxury labels, a major flex. There’s definitely interest from the conglomerates and I think Kering will get there first – Salma has hung out with the Beckhams socially and has attended her shows in the past. 

Sarah wrote about Kylie Jenner’s fashion week appearance and her status with Timothée Chalamet  - I agree, I think they are on. His sister was at the show. A few days earlier, someone filmed her telling Greta Gerwig she had a baby three weeks ago and now I’m wondering if this will be a plot on The Sex Lives of College Girls.
