We are getting a lot of Winona Ryder, more than we have in years and no one is complaining. Just like when she chooses to retreat, we can’t complain because she’s given us so much over the years. Like this anecdote about Jeff Bridges declining to kiss her in an audition because she was too young (she was in her early 20s, the same age as his daughter).

That confirms what many of us already think of Jeff Bridges. And it’s a celebrity anecdote that gets filed into the archives to be referred to again and again.

Gwyneth Paltrow is returning to acting with a role in Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme for A24. This is a big deal because she’s all but retired, save for occasionally wandering onto a Marvel set or working with her husband. But the gossip attached to this is low-vibration, with outlets reporting that she took the role so Apple could get closer to her celebrity crush, Timothée Chalamet.

This is very dumb on several levels. First off, Apple is at school and not hanging out with her mom 24/7. Second, Gwyneth is a professional- she’s not taking a role so she can play matchmaker for her daughter. Third, why would Apple need to jump through these hoops to speak to him. As if she couldn’t get his number or snap or whatever the kids are using any time she wants. It just makes Apple seem immature and boy crazy which we know no daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow would be.

It’s a fashion face-off between Anna Wintour and Naomi Campbell and it happened quite publicly. Anna was set to present Naomi with an award but Naomi was late, which Anna made note of in her speech. She left and gave it to Harper’s Bazaar editor Samira Nasr to pass off and when Naomi gave her acceptance, she said “It wasn’t my choice to have the other lady [Wintour]. I’d much rather have this.” In this world, that is the highest level of clapback. Reportedly, the audience gasped. I’ve long suspected these two have a cold war going on and what makes it intriguing is the power balance. Anna can’t destroy Naomi and Naomi can’t destroy Anna.

Who doesn’t remember their baby’s first solo helicopter flight? They grow up so fast. (The sycophantic celebrity comments on this are soooooo embarrassing.)

It’s the first week of school here, which is chaotic. But can you imagine what it looks like in the Baldwin house? I’m sure they are filming for their reality show and I don’t necessarily even want to watch it but shuttling six kids off to school – do they have their own bus?

Here is Winona at Tim Burton's Walk of Fame ceremony yesterday in LA.
