Billie Eilish has talked about not wanting to do a three hour concert and I am with her – I do not want to watch a three hour concert. I don’t want to watch a three hour movie, either, but things are longer now (ironically as our attention spans get shorter).
I can understand why artists feel the need to put on these long shows because concert tickets are so freaking expensive! Sarah wrote about the Live Nation/Ticketmaster of it all here.
Nepo babies, especially fresh ones, are tied into their parents’ reputation. That carries its own kind of weight, right? And so the reaction to North West in Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl are pretty much aligned with how people view her parents.
It’s absolutely silly to pretend that this was anything but stunt casting – so should North be punished for taking part of the stunt? In general, children singing is unpleasant, but it’s not like ticket holders were surprised by her on stage. It was known. And lots of celebrity kids have been performing publicly so it's kind of a nothingburger to me. It’s pretty selective outrage over child performers.
Channing Tatum didn’t attend Lenny Kravitz's big birthday bash because he’s working. But is that the whole story? Zoe and Channing have never been super present online so we can’t look for clues, but there’s kind of a vibe to his posts. Maybe he’s just all broody being away from home.
Who watches TV? There’s assumptions of who drives the views but the data tells its own story: CBS has the oldest and largest audience; Fox the youngest. This story on THR delves into the numbers and creates a pretty full picture of who is capturing the “coveted” demo and who is not. All of this means more executives trying to shape their shows to capture the right eyeballs for advertisers but at any point, will the coveted demographic age (18-49) change? Who is spending more money – a 25-year-old or 60-year-old?
