What Else?
Blink Twice, formerly titled Pussy Island, comes out next week, I can’t wait to see it. The LA premiere happened already and I’m curious to see if there will be more media events and screenings and carpets and I feel confident in saying, I think?, that it will not be as chaotic as the It Ends With Us press tour? Nothing scandalous so far, in fact it’s been pretty positive. Channing Tatum’s talking about which celebrity connected him with Zoë Kravitz. (Pajiba)
Also kicking off, the Beetlejuice press tour which is looking like they’re starting outside of the US first, in Mexico, and I’m wondering how extensive it will be. To me this is a big movie but it’s an August movie but does it even matter anymore, that whole August thing? Does anyone else think this is a big movie? Maybe not as big as Deadpool & Wolverine but … it’s Beetlejuice! Anyway, the person you’re looking for (I think) isn’t there – Winona Ryder isn’t doing every stop. But Jenna Ortega looks so cute though! (GoFugYourself)
I wrote in my Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni post today about how 2024 is the Year of Very Bad Communications and Katy Perry belongs in that column because the rollout for this new album has been … busted. The songs are either bad or not memorable. And the videos are either bad or… potentially harmful to the environment, what is going on over there in Katy’s Woman’s World!? (The Mary Sue)
Well, might as well stay on theme. Here’s another ongoing sh-tty PR saga – the IOC and the Court of Arbitration for Sport and Jordan Chiles’s bronze medal that they’re trying to take away from her despite USA Gymnastics presenting evidence that supports the Americans’ claim and now it’s been found that there might have been a conflict on the judging panel of CAS? (Celebitchy)
Shawn Mendes is releasing new music, and I love this piece by Megan Armstrong, “Shawn Mendes Did The Bravest Thing a Popstar Can Do” (Uproxx)
