I was just saying in this morning’s site open that with success of One Day, as more and more people are watching – and weeping – Leo Woodall is the internet’s new boyfriend, the Paul Mescal of 2024. Search his name on any social media platform and you’ll quickly get a sense of the level of thirst, unless of course you are among the thirsty, and in that case you know already because you’re contributing to it.
Leo and Meghann Fahy have been dating since at least September 2022 around the time The White Lotus season two was released, so it’s very possible that they’ve been together longer and it wasn’t all that public until they became a heatscore because of the show.
It’s not like the two have gone out of their way to hide that they’re in a relationship though, they’ve been papped together, but it’s just that they haven’t talked about it or confirmed it on social media… until today.
Like I said, these two have been together a while. It’s common knowledge that they’re dating. So why the hard launch, and why now? Just as millions of people are bingeing One Day, making it one of the most-streamed titles on Netflix…
Coincidence or conspiracy?
Leo was great in The White Lotus but let’s not pretend that he was the standout of season two. People were talking more about Simona Tabasco and Aubrey Plaza and of course Jennifer Coolidge and the gays who were trying to murder her than Leo. One Day, however, has just made Leo a lead romantic actor, the man everyone is pining over – so this, to me, is Meghann flexing. Once upon a time it was wearing his varsity jacket, now it’s a post on the feed. This is how it works now.
