Last time I posted about Kristen Stewart it was a month ago, she was out and about in LA with Dylan Meyer and I was wondering about her blonde hair, whether or not it was blonde vampire hair, since she’s co-starring with Oscar Isaac in a film set in the 80s called Flesh of the Gods.

Turns out the hair is not to play a vampire, but a stoner. It was announced yesterday that Kristen and Dylan are collaborating on The Wrong Girls, a film about “codependent best friends living paycheck to paycheck and bong rip to bong rip, when a case of mistaken identity throws their lives into chaos”. KStew’s onscreen best friend is Alia Shawkat, and Seth Rogen, Kumail Nanjiani, and LaKeith Stanfield have also been confirmed in supporting roles. This is a cast!

Dylan wrote the script and will be directing – The Wrong Girls is one of the projects coming out of Nevermind, the production company that Kristen and Dylan launched with Maggie McLean. And it’s an independent production, one of the first indie productions to get underway in LA after the fires. Per Variety, “over the course of the film’s 29-day production, which began last week, the film will employ approximately 100 people per day, 95% of which will be local L.A. residents”. Almost everyone involved in this movie would have been affected by the disaster and the fact that they’re back at work is such good news.

For Dylan, as she shared on Instagram, it’s been a looooong time coming, to be directing a movie that she wrote, and starring her fiancée/wife and this level of comedic talent.

Speaking of the comedy though, Alia, Seth, Kumail, LaKeith, all of them are veterans. Kristen Stewart, however, comedy isn’t really what we associate her with. But it’s where, I think, we all want to see more of her. A couple of years ago she told Rachel Sennott in Interview that, “Me and Dylan are writing a movie. It’s a stoner girl comedy, and it’s really f-cking stupid”. A “really f-cking stupid" Kristen Stewart is exactly what I ordered. So, 29 days of shooting, six months in post, maybe less, The Wrong Girls could be ready by Sundance next year?
