Everyone is outside before Oscar

The pre-Oscar party circuit continues, and last night it was the 18th ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards. Among the honorees was Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo, in a GREAT tulle dress. 

This dress says “Wicked” without also saying “costume”, which is how theme dressing should be. 

Also present was Keke Palmer, who has been extremely outside this week. She’s still rocking the red Jessica Rabbit hair, and I’m still into it. Our agencies don't have any shots of Keke on the carpet so please flip through the IG post below to see photo of her at the event. 

Speaking of hair, Zoë Kravitz showed up with very long locks, which makes her look more like her mother than ever. 

And then there is White Lotus star Natasha Rothwell, rocking vintage style hair and a tea-length dress. Season three of The White Lotus is so full of great performances, and Rothwell is a subtler actor than some of her co-stars, so I hope she doesn’t get overlooked when it becomes trophy time. She is the heart and the conscience of the show, everyone else’s bad behavior wouldn’t work without comparatively normal and sane Belinda around to throw the vacationers’ bonkers bad behavior into sharp relief. 

I also enjoyed her Hulu series How To Die Alone and am bummed it got canceled. I hope she finds it a new home.

I love both of those looks but Ryan Destiny is next level with that suit. 

Finally, Jodie Turner-Smith turned up with musician Moses Sumney, with whom she is allegedly “just friends”, but they were definitely gossip baiting last night, holding hands and being cute on the white carpet. 

I am now gossip genie’ing Jodie with this dude. He’s cute and she looks happy. Whatever is going on there, friends or something more, I hope she’s getting exactly what she wants from it.
