David Letterman doesn’t get papped all that often. It’s not like he totally avoids it, but I wouldn’t say he shows up in the photo agencies with the regularity of, say, one of those Nader sisters. If he knew he’ be photographed yesterday, he wore the right outfit: a custom varsity jacket with the name of the show he hosted for many years. And the same show that CBS is cancelling at the end of the current television season, it’s that much more poignant now.

Letterman and his letterman jackets were a thing when he was still hosting the show. He used to have them custom made and would give them away to guests and staff members. They’re collectors items now and once in a while he gives them away. Sometimes I see them popping up on eBay, a former staff member gave it to their nephew or whatever. Anyway, the point is, if Dave Letterman is associated with any item of clothing, it’s a varsity jacket.

I love a varsity jacket. I have a couple, not personalised though, and I’ve been thinking of getting one made, also I just ordered one as a gift for a friend. There are some people who think varsity jackets shouldn’t be worn past university. This, to me, is ridiculous. It’s a great style of jacket, period, why does it have to have an age limit. Look at Letterman.

What else happened today…

This story at Pajiba is mostly about Kristen Bell’s new project and how she didn’t know where it would air. But, really, my big takeaway from it is that Kristen blocked Pajiba on Instagram and it’s something we have in common, LOL. (She blocked us on Twitter when she still used it.). Kayleigh Donaldson, this is a trophy. (Pajiba)

The CMAs were last night and, well, no disrespect but there is rarely good fashion at the CMAs. Crazy fashion though? 100%. And it should stay this way. Where else can we see a cowboy hat with a green organza cape? (Go Fug Yourself)

A Firefighter Lesbian Christmas Movie is the sexiest combination of words I’ve read today. Give it to me now. (Autostraddle)

Keanu Reeves sends thank you cards. And I’m willing to bet that he bought the card and doesn’t have his own stationery because he’s not a pretentious asshole like me. (Celebitchy)

The Big Silly Trivia Game is the Pop Culture Jeopardy! for Gen Z and… it’s a GREAT idea. (The Cut)
