Lainey wrote about the big Hailey Bieber deal this morning and as she pointed out, the Daily Mail was wrong and strong about the Biebers’ financial situation. TMZ has been up in Justin’s (and by extension, Hailey’s) business for months and they didn’t have a whiff of this deal, which tells me the Bieber family office is tightly run.

Seemingly overnight, Hailey becomes the new celebrity entrepreneur standard. In just three short years, Rhode was launched, expanded and now has been acquired – this timeline is bananas fast.

Martin Scorsese’s library is so vast that I had to look up how many documentaries he’s been a part of as a director (too many to list) and now the camera is turned on him for Apple TV+’s Mr. Scorsese. It is directed by Rebecca Miller, an accomplished writer and filmmaker. As an aside, she’s the daughter of playwright Arthur Miller and married to Daniel Day-Lewis (so I imagine he will be making an appearance). Who else will pop up? I’m guessing Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio, who will go anywhere for Marty, and his daughter Francesca. Martin Scorsese is hardly niche but it’s nice to see Apple using its trillions for something useful – little films about people who are super nerdy about their art.

Apple TV+ is the studio that consistently greenlights star-studded movies that feel like they should be a fake movie trailer in The Studio. This one is with John Krasinski, Natalie Portman (who was recently at the Dior show) and Eiza Gonzalez, directed by Guy Ritchie. This feels like an “I’d like to redo my kitchen” job.

Oh and Natalie appeared on Dish podcast and talked about her obsession with Culinary Class Wars. This is on my watch list.

Martin Lawrence’s daughter, Jasmin, and Eddie Murphy’s son, Eric, got engaged in November and on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Eddie revealed they are married. Instead of the whole shebang, they did it quietly at a church. That makes Martin and Eddie in-laws. This is obviously very important. Last summer, Eddie talked about developing a script and working with Martin again but now they might have something bigger to plan: the post-wedding party. How many friends do the parents get to invite? Who chooses the caterer? Who is paying the bar bill? This is almost as difficult as producing a movie.
