I’m asking because our newsletter this week at The Squawk was written by Duana, an expert on Kristen Bell, and it’s about the very specific quality that makes Kristen Bell so effective in these roles. And it has nothing to do with being likeable. In fact, it’s actually the opposite. Have you subscribed to our Substack, by the way? Cardi B and Offset have broken up. And this breakup has lasted longer, I think?, than any of their other breakups. I feel like this time might stick? Maybe I’m just an optimist. But there are now rumours that Cardi is hooking up with someone new and, well, she’s entertaining them. She’s having fun with it. Probably because she’s having fun… but also because it must be driving Offset crazy. Which, for now, I get it, that feels good. But hopefully one day she’ll stop giving a f-ck what he thinks beyond what they have to share as they co-parent. (Hollywood Unlocked)

It was a big press day for Vice President Kamala Harris yesterday with appearances on The View, Howard Stern, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This, of course, came after her interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She was a smash hit – she was personable, she was serious, she was quick, she stayed on message, and she had fun. That laugh is so delightful to me but it’s also effective. Because it’s humanising. Here’s a person who can lead, obviously, but she’s also so not detached that she’s incapable of doing the most human thing possible, which is to laugh, not at people but with them. (Pajiba)

I almost didn’t recognise Naomi Scott because I’m still not used to seeing her hair so short – and I love it on her. If you’ve been visiting this site over the years it probably doesn’t surprise you that I also love this outfit. I wouldn’t change a single thing. This is exactly how I would wear this pearly skirt/dress: under an oversized blazer and yes with the socks pulled up and yes with platform loafers. One of my favourite looks in months!
