Gwyneth Paltrow was the headliner at Sophia Amoruso’s Girlboss Rally on Saturday in LA. She wore pink. Baggy pink. You know how I’ve been writing about my gossip instincts and Gwyneth lately? About how she’s pinging me because between all the engagement parties and weekend engagement events, it feels like there’s something she hasn’t yet told us?
As you know, if you’ve been reading this blog a while, bump-watch, to me, is not a reliable gossip indicator. Rather what you should be paying attention to is style-watch and particularly style patterns. Over the last few weeks, her style choices have been interesting. G is not averse to body-con. I am averse to body-con and it’s nothing unusual to only see me in anti-body-con options. But G doesn’t deliberately avoid a cling. Her outfits recently, however, have not been body-con. Even the engagement party (the one hosted by Ryan Murphy) dress by Giambattista Valli, with the cut-out at the waist, featured a full skirt. The jumpsuit she wore in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago for the Head Over Heels opening was loose-belted at the waist. Same goes for the amazing little gold dress she was in last week at the Infinity War premiere. And now this weekend, as you can see, we’re going for a streak here in roomy pink.
Coincidence or conspiracy?
PS. Spoiler alert for Infinity War – G shows up pretty early in the movie. And … Tony’s talking about having babies. Infinity War is not a short movie. They’re not leaving superfluous sh-t in the movie if it’s not useful in the next movie. Which means they’re definitely trying to tell us something. Not even trying – they ARE telling us something. Tony and Pepper are going to have a baby, right? A Pepperony baby!
