Daniel Dae Kim and Winnie Holzman (My So Called Life) were honoured last night at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts gala. Daniel is an alumnus, he got his MFA in the Graduate Acting Program, and his son graduated from NYU too.
Look how cute this photo is from last year.
That’s Jackson who joined his dad last night at the event.
Do we talk enough about the fact that Daniel is a power player in front of and behind the camera? He’s been in three series with over 100 episodes – Lost, Hawaii Five-0, and The Good Doctor. He produced The Good Doctor! He was on Broadway last year in Yellow Face. He’s been working on the second season of Avatar: The Last Airbender…
DDK has the range. And his next role will be in Butterfly, a spy series that he’s producing that shot in Korea last year as part of his deal with Amazon. No word on a release date but this is the first multi-season scripted series that will feature Daniel in the lead role. Not sure why it f-cking took so long but here we are, and we love to see it. We also can’t wait to see it, hopefully soon.
What else happened today…
Two characters were supposed to hook up in The White Lotus but Mike White ended up cutting it …and that’s a good decision because I don’t know what that would have made the season even more messy. (Pajiba)
Sydney Sweeney and Emily Ratajkowski did a photo shoot together for a product they both endorse and the production value here is kinda low but they made their point, at least what I think is the point. Or what should be the point. They’re both single and hot and it’s spring and they’re partying together and I like this storyline better than the one with Glen Powell. (Go Fug Yourself)
Speaking of Glen Powell, of course he got the approval. This man is a people pleaser. (The Mary Sue)
Michelle Williams made me laugh when she posted about the foot crime that happened to her on a flight recently. Should there be a mandatory information session for people before they book their ticket? Because what is with this crazy ass behavior on airplanes, why is there so much nonsense on flights? She’s nicer than me, I would not have mentioned that the foot was well moisturised, LOL. (Celebitchy)
Do You Have What it Takes To Be in a Lesbian Long Distance Relationship? I wanted to know and it turns out I’m not suited for a relationship that’s more than two hours away. Which is true. If I were with a man I’d be fine with a longer distance. But if were with a woman, I’d want to be much closer because, frankly, there are more things to do together, more shows to watch together, more clothes to share, etc etc etc. (Autostraddle)
