I have a very big soft spot for Jordyn Woods, who survived the Kardashian Industrial Complex. She was 21 when the scandal with Khloe’s ex Tristan Thompson happened and Jada Pinkett Smith stepped in with Red Table Talk and said no, they aren’t going to ruin her. (Jordyn is a long-time family friend of the Smiths, her dad was a sound engineer on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.) And Jordyn is thriving.

Yesterday, Lainey mentioned Sydney Sweeney’s line SYRN doing a “Campus Crush” campaign and SKIMS is also leaning into dorm aesthetic. Earlier this month, Town & Country covered what’s cool on college campuses this year, proclaiming the Adidas Samba dead and the Onitsuka Tiger in yellow as the new It sneaker. Fashion is cyclical so collegiate style comes and goes but as Lainey pointed out, this is absolutely in sync with the success of Off Campus. The various cast members are doing campaigns but no one is really aligned with any fashion brand or house – maybe the timing didn’t work out for fall campaigns. But Off Campus is Prime’s biggest hit this year and SYRN is partially funded by Jeff Bezos, who I know doesn’t run Amazon anymore, but you think he’d still have some strings to pull. This would have been a very easy and buzzy marketing play, who is running the show over there?

Heated Rivalry is filming in Ontario and what is actually wrong with this fandom? I don’t mean in a haha way, they are the fusion of every toxic fandom thrown in a blender, it’s frightening and unhinged. They endlessly harass Hudson Williams’s longtime girlfriend, insisting it’s a PR relationship even though they were together long before he became famous (really playing the long game there!) and his team is constantly a target. Anyone Connor Storrie goes near is investigated endlessly (like, searching his friends’ parents’ Facebook accounts). The latest is Hudson Williams’s cat Gizmo, who did a cute little campaign. A certain sect of commenters think that it’s a cat double and the cat double’s owner is MAGA. This is how a lot of these fandoms justify themselves – they say the most horrible, out of pocket sh-t and then when they are called on it, they comb through old posts, old likes and tenuous connections to say “well I don’t care because this person is problematic, they liked X post or they supported X person, do YOU support that too?” And round and round it goes.
