Witches!
It’s time to play another round of How Long Can I Watch Ryan Murphy’s New TV Show?! This time, the show is American Horror Story’s (un)lucky thirteenth season, which has a working title of Penthouse. This season has everything: witches, penthouses, Sarah Paulson, that thing where Murphy casts a bunch of people that I like so that I feel compelled to tune in.
AHS 13 is bringing back some AHS staples, including Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Leslie Grossman, Gabourey Sidibe, and Frances Conroy, all of whom were seen filming in all black ensembles in New York yesterday, alongside series newcomer Avantika. The new season also adds including Paul Anthony Kelly, and brings in other Murphy-verse stars like Ariana Grande and Billie Lourd, and AHS staples and icons Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, and Angela Bassett.
A teaser featuring Emma Roberts denotes her return as Madison Montgomery, her role from season three, the very witchy Coven.
Given that so many people from Coven are back for AHS 13, and that they’re all wearing witchy black fits, I have to assume that AHS 13 and Coven are connected. Goddammit, I’m going to get sucked into this. Coven is my second-favorite season of AHS (season one remains the strongest, narratively), and if they are, indeed, bringing back Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode, the Supreme, I am going to sit through every episode, even if AHS 13 turns out to be eyeballs-bleeding bad. I am a sucker for spooky stuff, I know this, you know this, Ryan Murphy apparently knows this. How does he keep doing this to me?!
