I think I mentioned this around the time of the Olympics but did you ever imagine that Snoop Dogg would be NBC’s big Olympic draw and that his content would be so primetime wholesome? So I love this piece by Justin Charity about “The Year of Snoop Dogg” and how he’s basically become America’s “national mascot” and “single-handedly destigmatised selling-out”, which is a brilliant observation. It always cracks me up when Sarah jokes about Canada, like our money and also Thanksgiving, which is in October (this coming weekend, in fact) and she calls it “fake Thanksgiving”. It’s too late in the United States! This year it’s at the very end of November which means that Christmas isn’t even a full month apart! So that would be my first answer to Reddit’s question about what the weirdest thing is about America that Americans don’t realise is weird: Thanksgiving. Also… the way people respond in America to “thank you” which is “mm hmmm”. Or “uh huh”. It throws me off every time. (Pajiba)

How has it been five days since I last bitched about Halloween? Time to change that! Jessica at The Fug Girls is a Halloween person and she’s shared some of her Halloween recommendations, including a stuffed spooky cat that has only made me even more resolute in my disdain for Halloween – and I’m a true hater. But this is the kind of sh-t that’s been popping up all over my neighbourhood which is normally super normal and cute and is turning into a mess because of all the spiders and the coffins and the Halloween mess that has taken over. And I know you’re out there so if you’re looking for “decorations”, Jessica’s got you. (Go Fug Yourself)

I totally agree with all the celebrities who just want to play a dead body on Law & Order. And it’s actually not a minimal amount of work, especially if it’s a gruesome murder. That’s at least a few hours in hair and makeup! But the draw of being the dead body is that the whole story revolves around you! Celebrities are narcissists. I am a narcissist. See how I solved that? (Celebitchy)

Are you obsessed with celebrity teeth? This is not my kink. But there are a lot of people who get off on celebrity teeth analysis on TikTok and now Emma Alpern’s piece on Celebrity ToothTok has just informed me that I have something in common with Margot Robbie. I’m a grinder too and I should be wearing a nightguard every night but … ugh… I hate that tight feeling so much, don’t @ me dentists, I KNOWWWW. (Vulture)
