I think the first post we ever did about it was by Kathleen when Rachel Kathleen wrote a bit about Rachel Lindsay was confirmed as the Bachelorette. Today it was announced that the new Bachelor is Matt James, the first Black Bachelor in the shows 25th season. First of all, holy sh-t, there have been 25 seasons of The Bachelor?! And second… it took this long to have a Black Bachelor? I mean, I know, that’s the question everyone is asking. Isn’t this an embarrassment to the franchise? (Dlisted)
What is my advice to people in their 20s? I don’t know. I f-cked up so hard in my 20s and I feel like I would still f-ck up if I could back to that age, no matter what the advice. There are a lot of people who’ve wondered about Lady Antebellum’s band name. And now they’ve realised it’s not a good look so they’ve changed it with what I think is a good explanation although I am not a Black person living with the scars of the American South so if you think this is off-base, please let me know. This is a country band though and, well, there’s a segment of the country fanbase is still very pro-Antebellum so they’re getting a LOT of vitriol. Not as much as the Dixie Chicks though.
