Did we get enough of Too Much? I enjoyed it but understand why Lena Dunham wants to “park it.” These characters were intense and messy and in crisis, and that kind of energy is very hard to sustain.
But I think it could be revisited in 3-5 years.
Last week Lainey wrote about Meghan Sussex, fashion influencer. She is very good at it! Influencers denote a kind of tit-for-tat in terms of trading exposure for clothes; does Meghan do that or does she pay retail? I don’t know, but Page Six is implying she took a Galvan dress from a Variety shoot and is wearing it in the trailer for the With Love, Meghan Holiday Celebration. Her publicist has now gone on the record to shut down the report. Any brand would love to have Meghan in their gown and happily hand it over, and I’m sure Meghan would be happy to pay for the dress if she really wanted it (it’s about $1700US). So the story is unnecessarily dramatic. Brands may benefit from The Meghan Effect but rarely post about her directly.
The popular yellow sweater and skirt? It’s Jenni Kayne, a designer who makes appearances in Meghan’s rotation but doesn’t post about her. This makes me think she purchases her clothes and it’s an unspoken agreement not to use her to promote the brand. That seems the most fair and least sticky way to do it.
Who hasn’t been mesmerized by the $16 cashews at Hudson’s News.
Martha Stewart is out here working like the rent is DUE. And it’s time for her Thanksgiving pies, with a pie chart.
Robbie Williams went deep on Who Would Win a Fight: Boy Band Edition. But the focus is on Europe and the US, I think K-pop should be included. (Lainey: K-pop idols actually have to serve in the army – there’s no contest. K-pop stars would take all the rest of them out.)
The most adorable thing on the internet this week!!!!!! More Tina episodes on The Bear, please.
