During the days of yesteryear (the 90s), TV had very distinct seasons and pickups and cancellations were not constantly announced. Obviously, streaming changed all that – it’s just a constant fire hose of new shows and renewals and cancellations. And there are also a lot of shows that are announced and just… sit.
Jennette McCurdy’s memoir I’m Glad My Mom Died was set to be adapted for Apple TV with Jennifer Aniston to star. Months ago, director Jason Reitman exited over what sounds like creative differences in tone and Apple has reportedly given them a short window to find a new director and get going. Jennette was recently on Call Her Daddy and said the process has been challenging. “Challenging” is a diplomatic word.
Wagner Moura was shut out at the SAGs but like Lainey said, that doesn’t mean his Oscar chances are gone. Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o’s post is an appreciation of his work, a very well-regarded A-lister giving him a boost. This kind of support can be quite helpful because actors are the largest voting body in the Academy.
Chase Stokes and Kelsea Ballerini are back together and continue to share, a lot, on Instagram.
Nick Kroll is leading a new series at Netflix and it sounds like it’s centered around employees at a biohacking company. Interesting concept because biohacking is the wellness industrial complex for men. It’s pushed by tech bros who are robotic shells trying to squeeze productivity out of every second of their day to distract from how joyless they are. Anyway, great cast.
This picture is very important!!!! Jane Krakowski was recently profiled in Vogue – also important. Finally, this clip is old by Cole Escola on Good Hang had Amy cracking up – “ask for Gino.”
