Jen and Jim are Instagram official

News first broke in July that Jennifer Aniston had a new boyfriend. She was seen with hypnotist Jim Curtis while on holiday with Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka. Over the subsequent few weeks, at least in public, they continued their slow dating double dates, in both LA and New York. The baby steps continued when Jim supported Jen at the season four premiere of The Morning Show but only watching from the sidelines. 

As I have said, I appreciate this gradual rollout. That Jen and Jim are giving us episodic television with this gossip, and this is fitting since, of course, Jen is a television legend. So here’s the latest development: Jen and Jim are Instagram official. Like official-official. Because it was unofficial a few weeks ago when she posted a summer carousel and showed the back of his head. 

Like I said… it’s been baby-steps and old-fashioned. Playing at half speed instead of rushing through the podcast. Weekly releases instead of a full season dump. Now, for his birthday, Jen’s giving Jim a full face, but hiding her own body. 

The words do more than the photo though. She refers to him as “my love” and coming from her it hits harder than it would if a 22-year-old TikTok star were to say it. Jennifer Aniston has been famous for a long time, too familiar with the public’s preoccupation with her love life. So if she’s putting it out there that she is in love, she’s secure enough in this love to share it. And it sets up whatever the next mini-move in the game plan will be. 

Because she’s still got some to play, she’s saving up some more milestones. We’ve yet to get a real good money shot of them side by side, hand in hand, arm in arm. She’s yet to talk about him in an interview. A kiss, probably, is still a ways away. This is fun, fun to see her having fun with it.
