Jennifer Lopez has been relatively quiet the last few weeks by her standards. She covers the new issue of Interview but she actually hasn’t been papped all that much this month. Until this weekend.
The most notable sighting is from Friday night when she was seen arriving at the same event as Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, separately of course. JLo was with Emme and Ben and JG were with Fin so, probably, it had to do with their kids and they were there as supportive parents. As we have seen, they remain connected because of their children. And as we have also seen, their children remain close.
The most recent headline about no-more-Bennifer that has to do with the end of their marriage is a PEOPLE article from last week citing an “exclusive source” who says that Ben “never looked back” after he moved out of their marital home. Given that the rumours are that he ghosted her, like literally stopped returning calls and texts from his wife at the time, I’m not sure why anyone close to Ben would think it would be, um, helpful to be running to the media and describing him this way? How is this a good look?
The source add that Ben is “very focused on work and his kids” and that he’s “staying busy and happy”. Which is good enough for a quote. But that extra detail about how he “never looked back” is a CHOICE. A message that reinforces the idea that he was so f-cking miserable with her, he decided to live out a Taylor Swift song, packing up his own getaway car, singing “that was the last time you ever saw me” as he sped away.
Jennifer Aniston once said that Brad Pitt was “missing a sensitivity chip”. I wonder if you could say the same of Ben Affleck.
But no one’s ever going to keep JLo down. After that parent and kids event, she was out for dinner after an outfit change, in a grey-camel two-piece, and out for lunch the next day in a black two-piece with flats. On the work front, Unstoppable is scheduled to be in limited released at the beginning of December before streaming on Prime through the holidays. We’ll be seeing JLo back on promo soon enough.
