JLo supports ARod 

Alex Rodriguez was the picture of a doting, supportive boyfriend at the MTV VMAs when Jennifer Lopez received her Video Vanguard award. Remember the shot of him recording the whole thing on his phone like it wasn’t an internationally broadcast television event? Like MTV couldn’t have sent him a link after the show? Like a Peak Dad?

Well, it was J Lo’s turn to bust out her phone and play the role of cheerleading partner last night in New York at the 33rd Annual Great Sports Legends Dinner. Not exactly the VMAs but still important! ARod was honoured at the event while JLo looked on, smiling through her phone. I’ll give her a pass since this one wasn’t televised. Jennifer and Alex are that couple with their phones out at all times. They’re a classic Mom and Dad on date night. It’s pretty adorable, right? JRod is still going strong and so is my belief that they will live happily ever after.  

In other JLo news, she’s about to wrap up her Vegas residency so she’s getting support at her final shows, not just from ARod, but also from her famous friends. She posed backstage with Jessica Alba, Dua Lipa, Becky G, and Sofia Vergara.

What is ARod doing in this photo? Rule number one of the Supportive Boyfriend manual: it is your job to take the group photo. Always. 

Finally, how do we feel about Jennifer’s sheer turtleneck? I think I’d like it if the neck was also sheer. Does that defeat the purpose? The more I look at it, the more it looks like a brace. Also, I don’t love that it’s reminding me that turtleneck season is upon us. (Lainey: I am READY.)
