This is Julia

I had no idea that these were pictures of Julia Fox when I first saw them. Initially, in thumbnail, I thought maybe Lana Del Rey? Then I looked at the caption and read “Julia Fox” and I was like… no, for real? For real. This is Julia Fox and of course I couldn’t ID her as herself because she’s not wearing an outfit that I would have expected to see on Julia Fox. By her standards, this is pretty …safe. Everything, actually. The clothes and the makeup too. 

Julia’s top is from the adidas Originals x Willy Chavarria SS26 collection that just debuted during Paris Fashion Week in June. This, for me, was the standout piece, the one I would most likely order. So it’s still a serve, just not the kind we would have predicted. 

Julia was attending Cara Delevingne’s birthday party, a person she used to gossip about on her podcast, like not even that long ago. And now they’re friends, which is exactly how it should work but also tells you the impact Julia’s had on celebrities themselves. When Charli XCX is writing songs inspired by you and you’re starring in Jordan Peele and Safdie movies, attending a birthday party is pretty routine. 

Vanessa Kirby is also one of Julia’s friends. They met on Night Always Comes which is premiering on August 15 and she’ll likely be promoting it more in the next week or so.

What else happened today…

Sarah posted about Sydney Sweeney yesterday and here’s Kathleen’s piece about Sydney being exactly who we thought she was because, frankly, we were never believers. Or, more accurately, what we believed was right. But also, kind of overrated. As per Kathleen, “her burgeoning career hasn’t been interesting (or excellent) enough to warrant this much energy”. (Refinery 29)

Michelle Yeoh is an accessories queen, and much of that has to do with the fact that she has an extensive personal collection. But I’m not sure I can get with these Simone Rocha crocs. I love Simone Rocha but you will never see me in a Croc. (Go Fug Yourself)

Matt Smith is joining Ryan Gosling in the standalone Star Wars movie that Shawn Levy is directing. These two are going to become best friends, and these three are going to be the sequel to the Deadpool & Wolverine press tour. (Pajiba)

I skimmed some headlines a few weeks ago about Aaron Rodgers getting married. Had no idea that his wife, Brittani, has never been seen in public. And now we know she has a sister who is 20. This is not a mystery I care to follow. (Celebitchy)

WNBA jerseys and the dates they should be on – but if I were dating I would only wear one: the Toronto Tempo! We’re getting our own WNBA team next season and I fully intend on getting all the merch. (Autostraddle)
