She wore a ceramic coffee mug. This is what I called it, even before I rolled my eyes at her win over Connie Britton’s Tami Taylor. Julianna Margulies is the uninspired vote. Because if you’ve had the pleasure of watching Britton on Friday Night Lights, well, you know it would be impossible to award the Emmy to Kyle Chandler without acknowledging her work.
But this post is not intended to be an argument about the actresses. What we’re doing here is declaring that this Armani Prive is super ugly, because it derived its inspiration from the kind of coffee mug you’d find in a wiccan cafe. Or at Ikea. To say nothing of that goddamn hair lumping out on both sides like Gary Oldman’s Dracula. Maybe, MAYBE Cate Blanchett would have been able to save it, but Julianna, as lovely as she is, just doesn’t have that ability.
