Today was Kathleen’s last day as a producer on The Social and she produced our year-end primetime special which airs later this month. Which is why she’s been quiet this week and that’s also why we were quiet today. I was focusing on making her cry as she closes the chapter on this era of her career and moves onto the next. We’ll be back next week. In the meantime…
The Grammy nominations were announced today. Kendrick Lamar and Drake lead the way. Will Drake show up this year? There have been a few headlines about Taylor Swift being shut out of the major categories. To be fair, it’s not like she worked the recording academy the way she campaigned before she won for 1989. Now that we know that she’s beginning a new era in her professional career, with a new contract with Universal, I wonder if she’s saving all of that hustle for the next album. Reputation was already a big deal, with the tour breaking records, etc, without the Grammys. And there’s no better way to deliver on a new contract than with a new album that not only meets and exceeds sales targets and is recognized with Grammys. Is that her long game?
More on the Grammys in the coming weeks but for now, here are some photos of Kacey Musgraves, whose album Golden Hour has been nominated for Album of the Year even though it didn’t get much play on country radio. She was at the Billboard Women in Music event last night and both of these outfits are outstanding. Can’t wait to see what she wears to the Grammys.

Cardi B was nominated for 5 Grammys today. She celebrated by going to court. My favourite part of this court report is that the judge told her to not make comments about the situation on social. Like social media behaviour has now become a thing that judges are concerned with. (TMZ)

Is this the first time we’ve seen the Clooney babies? Ella and Alexander Clooney were born in June 2017. Up to now, the Clooneys have kept them pretty undercover. Amal and George are in New York this week as, on Wednesday, Amal received the Global Citizen of the Year award from the UN. During her speech, she criticized the Trump administration for fomenting hate and endangering the lives of journalists. George escorted her to the event. And the next day, she stepped out of the hotel, where several pap agencies were waiting, with both babies holding onto their own teddy bears and they are cuuuuuute. (Cele|bitchy)
