Let’s just say it. It needs to be said. We’re all thinking it—Jeremy Strong showed up to the Golden Globes dressed like a Lucky Charm in a 90s rap video. He looks like his boy Squiggle is cooking up beats for him back home.

A kinder, gentler Andrew Scott dubbed their pastel suits “maritime chic”:

Strong was nominated in the supporting actor/motion picture category (for The Apprentice) alongside his Succession co-star Kieran Culkin. As happened sometimes on the TV side of things, Strong lost to Culkin, who won for his performance in A Real Pain. I have a feeling Kieran is about to run the table and win everything except, maybe, the BAFTA, so this is just the start of his trophy trail tyranny. And yes, everyone watching at home noticed Jeremy Strong’s face upon losing to Kieran.

But don’t worry, they hugged out whatever weird feelings they may or may not have after Succession later. I’m sure the phones shoved in their faces had no effect!

While Kieran Culkin winning isn’t exactly surprising—he’s the clear favorite for the supporting actor Oscar—one of the genuine surprises at the Golden Globes was Sebastian Stan winning Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for A Different Man. He still has an outside chance for an Oscar nomination (where he’s more likely to be nominated for Trump biopic The Apprentice), but the Globes might be the only trophy he wins for his double performances in 2024.

He made it count, though, giving a good speech about disability acceptance, including a shoutout to The Apprentice, and reminding everyone he’s got a good backstory as an immigrant.

He might have helped himself a lot with this speech:

He also looks like a total snack, and I appreciate that he updated us on his love life, shouting out his girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis. A very economical 90 speech! This is how you do it! Please continue nominating Sebastian Stan for things, it turns out he’s really good at the acceptance speech part.
