We know it’s Tom Cruise coconut cake season but when necessary, Tom can pivot. Jake Johnson can’t eat that type of cake so his gift is a custom gingerbread house.  So here’s my question: Tom keeps an extensive holiday list, which means he probably receives a lot of Christmas gifts as well. What would you give Tom Cruise for Christmas? First off, I would write him a letter about how influential and important he is to the film industry because I think he would enjoy that. Second, I’d get him popcorn shakers for his home theatre. 

Yesterday Lainey wrote about Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson returning to The Hunger Games cinematic universe and it got me thinking of what a stark contrast it is from the Harry Potter franchise, which has been exhausted by ego, greed and JK Rowling’s heinous loser behaviour. I’m not pretending there isn’t an audience for Harry Potter or consumers for the many, many licensed products and events, but there’s no shine to it.

The Cut has released a “The Most Divorced Guys of 2025” list and I agree with it, but I would consider swapping Justin Trudeau for Tom Brady. They are both Divorced Guys, but in different ways.

Antiheroine is set to premiere at Sundance 2026 and over the past few years I have wondered, where is Courtney Love? She deleted Instagram (smart) and doesn’t appear much at public events (concerts, film premieres, fashion shows). And she IS invited to all of those things, Courtney has a lasting appeal. 

Apparently she lives in London, but the last interview I could find was in 2024. 

I couldn’t give a fig about American football but this isn’t about the game, it’s about how the game is covered. PEOPLE has a story up on the odds on the Kansas City Chiefs and we know why. It doesn’t even need to be said.
