Following her stint on the Cannes jury last month, Lily Gladstone has gone outside again, this time to attend a screening of Fancy Dance in New York. Alongside Lily was her young co-star, Isabel DeRoy-Olson, director Erica Tremblay, and co-stars Ryan Begay. The film premiered at Sundance last year, and I am once again begging you to see Fancy Dance. It opens in limited release this Friday, before debuting on Apple TV+ next Friday. Make time for this film!

Lily is taking a break from filming the remake of The Wedding Banquet in Vancouver with Bowen Yang, and I would LOVE to know how that collaboration is going. We have only seen heavy work from Lily, but in her interviews, there is a dry humor—not uncommon among Native communities, frankly—and wit that hasn’t really been utilized on screen yet. I cannot WAIT to see The Wedding Banquet, in part because I would like to see a Lily Gladstone movie that isn’t sad for once (see also: Jon Bernthal), but also because I want to see someone use her humor and warmth in a new way on screen. Also, since she’s working with Bowen Yang, Lily Gladstone on Las Culturistas when?
