During the Oscars, the first teaser for season two of Only Murders in the Building dropped. I’ve never understood why the Oscars doesn’t feature more new trailers, like the Super Bowl, that seems like one way to gin up interest in viewing without insulting the people who actually make movies by not presenting their awards live on air. Anyway, the teaser shows Mabel, Charlie, and Oliver back in action at the Arconia, presumably trying to solve Bunny’s murder and get Mabel off the hook. We also get a brief glimpse of season two additions Cara Delevingne and Amy Schumer, but there is no sign of fellow newcomer Shirley MacLaine.

I don’t think anyone is happier than Lainey for Only Murders to come back—on June 28, just three months—but I am glad to have a new “fun little murder mystery” to dive into. Hulu’s other murder mystery, the one starring Mandy Patinkin, is TBA, and Knives Out 2 isn’t expected until later this year (probably to premiere in the fall festival season, as Knives Out did). I have both seasons of Trial & Error memorized, I’ve watched them so much, and I’ve seen The Afterparty twice, once to experience it, and once to see all the clues I missed the first time. I’ve watched Only Murders twice, too, because the killer reveal was, well, a killer reveal. I did NOT see that coming. I love murder mysteries, but I am SO bad at solving them. Actually, that’s my pitch for a fun little murder mystery. A couple of terrible self-described sleuths try to solve the most obvious murder in the world, starring Sam Richardson and Patti Harrison.
