Every premiere is a big deal but for Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights”, being that Emily Brontë’s book was set in Yorkshire, and the moors are such a big part of the story, the London premiere is the crown on the calendar that is the press tour for the movie.

And we have seen Margot Robbie and stylist Andrew Mukamal kill it on this press tour, as noted yesterday, this to me is even better than Barbie. The Victorian gothic, but make it modern, but make it pop girlie, and keep it as full as the doll movie – it’s just been so f-cking good and, of course, the look for London was the one they held for London.

Margot is in Dilara Findikoglu, at least the second time she’s worn Dilara over the last week. And clearly given a heads up about the red carpet was staged, meant perhaps to mimic the setting of the book and the film. The green feathers and roping of Margot’s dress work so well with her surroundings and of course the design elements we’ve seen are incorporated here too – the corseting and heaving bosom are on full display, but she’s also giving mythological goddess, especially with the way her hair is styled back, so that the halter straps of the dress look like her hair has been braided.

To be honest, it’s not my favourite look of the press tour just in terms of pure fashion, but I really, really love the swings that Margot and Andrew have been taking, the imagination that we’ve seen, the risks and the ambition. Also, what really sells it is that she is clearly feeling herself, she wants to serve and slay, and I’ll never complain when a star makes clothing part of the work, and enjoys it.

Emerald Fennell has been really working it on this press tour too. She too is in a corset, looks great in this gown with the exaggerated shoulders – big loud red for her big loud movie that she is big loud premiering at home.

And Charli XCX came home with big drama in her look too – in pink custom Erdem that is both soft and sinister. I love a veil with flat dark hair, it’s theatrical and extra, beautifully suited to the occasion.

We’re not done with the corsets – Margot, Emerald, Charli, and also Hong Chau too whose press tour wardrobe might be overshadowed by the lead actor in the film but do not sleep on the fact that Hong has worn Thom Browne multiple times, including at the London premiere and this black and white look is exquisite. The cropped jacket over the white corset with the flaps over a wide-hipped skirt, it’s not just my favourite out of all the outfits tonight, it’s one of my favourites of the year so far, period. Hong and Thom are a really strong partnership.
