As Sarah noted last week when she posted about the Hollywood premiere of Wuthering Heights, Margot Robbie kicked off the press tour by dressing to a legendary lovers theme and it was a spectacular start. But, of course, there’s more – and in addition to the literary romance angle, there’s also Victorian gothic, which is obvious because of the source material.

The dipped red and black lace Schiaparelli dress Margot wore in LA was definitely giving the moors and in Paris, she’s in red again… and not just red but red CHANEL.

This is breathtaking. The rich velvet opening up to the white underskirt, the tailoring, the choker… it’s so, SOOOOO good. And it’s also Matthiew Blazy. Which is thrilling since there is history here. Margot’s history with Chanel, up to last year, hasn’t been much of a slay. In fact it’s a common online complaint among fashion girlies and her fans that from the beginning of her ambassadorship with the house until recently, Margot x Chanel was a flop. But that was before Blazy.

Matthiew Blazy, as we’ve covered over the last year or so since he left Bottega Veneta, is a gamechanger. His impact on Chanel has been immediate. Margot in her first custom Chanel by Matthiew Blazy is the best she has ever been on a red carpet in Chanel, period. And if you haven’t seen the back of the dress, get ready to be gagged again.

Wuthering Heights opens next Friday, just before Valentine’s Day. Reviews were pretty positive after last week’s LA premiere, a few of my colleagues have been at the screenings and what I’m hearing from them is… well… it’s Emerald Fennell so there are going to be some problems, but the chemistry between Margot and Jacob Elordi is undeniably electric. I have one friend who said they are so off-the-charts hot together that it actually made her forget about Jacob’s pretentiousness, LOL.

Speaking of the energy between Margot and Jacob, the internet seems to be divided on how they’re selling it on this press tour with the rings and all the gushing. Some are accusing the two of affair-baiting and then of course there are tabloids, like the Daily Mail, who are out here taking the bait and trying to fuel rumours that Margot’s marriage is in trouble because of it. So if they are affair-baiting, does that mean it’s working?
