We say it every year during the holidays: Mariah Carey is immortal. If humanity and our planet can keep existing, Mimi will continue to exist too – in the form of her most famous song, the song that will be played in December for all the Decembers to come, long after anyone gives a f-ck about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, if anyone really gives a f-ck about it now. And it’s not just the song we’re talking about but it’s all the songs. But now is not the time to be petty. Not when records are being set. 

Earlier this week, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the 20th time, the most times any track has ever done it. And it was released 31 years ago. Given how popular the song is and how it’s guaranteed to be played annually, there’s a good chance she’ll keep adding to it. 

This is not the first time Mimi’s held the record either. Per Billboard, “Carey claims the Hot 100’s No. 1 longevity record for a second time — In 1995-96, her and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” dominated for 16 weeks, a mark that stood on its own for more than 23 years, until it was tied by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito,” featuring Justin Bieber, in 2017, and then passed by “Old Town Road.” (She, thus, breaks the record with a song released before “One Sweet Day.”)”

As she said on Instagram, she is “humbly taking back the torch”… in sequins and serving body, obviously. 

Speaking of sequins, I haven’t had a chance to praise Mimi for her white and red sequined candy cane dress from her new holiday special that just aired this past Saturday. It’s perfect, I f-cking love it. (Click here if your reel freezes)

Is she setting records for the number of holiday specials at this point? I can’t keep track of them anymore, LOL. 

Mimi is celebrating where she always celebrates – in Aspen. The Queen has touched down and, as is tradition, she went shopping last night. The theme was brown and beige, the spirits were festive, and the question mark is her romantic status. 

For the last year or so, Mimi’s been linked to Anderson .Paak. It’s been a minute since they’ve been seen together though and some people are now starting to suspect that whatever it was they were doing, or suggesting, was all for the album, and not much more than “hand-holding”. Remember, she is a chaste queen, lol. 

The rumour now according to DeuxMoi is that she might be dating one of her dancers (again). Exactly who that dancer could be is not clear but if she hasn’t let us know yet it means they probably haven’t progressed beyond second base in Mimi dating baseball, which by her standards is a peck on the cheek, where there are 19 bases, one for each of her #1 hits.
