Mariah Carey explaining the concept of time to a trio of reporters, one of whom doesn’t seem familiar with her anniversaries, is very funny. “How would we know when?” is a great question for a regular person. 

But Mariah doesn’t concern herself with the details that plague regular people. She is Mariah Carey, she exists outside of the social construct of time and space. 

We keep getting the “Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have split” headlines and it’s like yeah, we know. We’ve processed and moved on. 

You know how on reality TV when a cast member goes to therapy on camera, the person working with them is usually… not very good. I’m no expert but they always seem to be practicing TV therapy and play up to the camera. Then there’s Dr. Phil and Dr. Drew, who have given many the ick for the exploitative nature of their shows. That is not the case with Couples Therapy, which is on Showtime (Crave in Canada). I’m obsessed with Dr. Orna Guralnik and the way she works because she is so damn good at her job. I can FEEL her listening. Completely obsessed.

Early reviews of The Bear are out and as Vanity Fair writer Richard Lawson points out, this show has had issues since its first season that have been glossed over by prestige TV hype. My issue with The Bear is that you get the sense they are trying to create this big, messy family dynamic but constantly take shortcuts to get there, relying very heavily on character actors that tire pretty quickly. That said, I will watch every episode. I’m still invested. 

As Lainey said, Brad Pitt is hustling hard and that means podcasts. He appeared on Armchair Expert and these two are both kind of blowhards, I’m not surprised they were feeling each other. Everyone wants a piece of BP, most podcasts would kill to have him on. So I’m wondering how he chose this over, say, SmartLess. He must know Jason Bateman, who is a longtime friend of Jennifer Aniston. Maybe it’s not an either/or situation and he has more appearances coming up?
