Meryl looking fabulous

Also continuing to do press rounds is Meryl Streep for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

She was at The Late Show last night, arriving in leopard print and sunglasses, looking fabulous and feeling herself.

This was a solo appearance, no Anne Hathaway, who I hope is getting some rest amidst the press tour. As Lainey mentioned, Annie has an obscenely busy year ahead of her, she and Zendaya are pacing themselves with press this year.

Of course, Meryl stays busy, too, though not “five movies a year” busy these days. She has done several voice roles so far in 2026, including a cameo in Project Hail Mary as a rejected Rocky voice, and a role in Pixar’s Hoppers, but the most intriguing news on the Meryl front is that she has been tapped to play Joni Mitchell in a biopic of the singer’s life, to be directed by Cameron Crowe. Anya Taylor-Joy is reported to play the younger iteration of Joni, and the film will supposedly shoot later this year. There’s kind of a lot of “maybes” and “pendings” attached, but a Meryl/ATJ matchup for Joni Mitchell is solid. It’s definitely in the right realm of straight blonde hair.

But first, Meryl has to get through Prada 2, which everyone hopes will kick off a strong summer movie season. Between a fan-favorite sequel like Prada 2 and new films from Spielberg and Nolan, never mind a new Spider-Man movie—one of the few superheroes immune to fatigue—summer 2026 should definitely perform better than summer 2025. But that momentum starts with Prada 2. No pressure.
