Is this your favourite rom-com of 2021? It’s definitely mine – and it’s playing out on Instagram. Rom-coms, like most films, have three acts. We are currently still in the first act of Michael B Jordan Loves Lori Harvey: An Instagram Love Story. Will we see the second act? When the initial intensity of the romance wears off? When a conflict arises – and when the inevitable separation happens at the end of the second act, before they reunite in the third? I hope so. Otherwise the show would be incomplete.
For now, though, let’s enjoy our time in Act 1 as MBJ and Lori continue to love each other up on social media. Here’s what Lori posted on Friday:
STOP IT.
Well, no, actually. Don’t stop it. I am obsessed with it. The way he saunter-swags into the shot, all oiled up and shirtless, licks his lips and then puts them all over her… and she’s just there, smug as f-ck, as she should be, knowing that the whole world, or half of Twitter at least, is living and breathing off of every kiss.
Then yesterday MBJ posted a shot of himself feeling himself, crediting Lori for the photo and she commented underneath: “Mine”. With a tongue emoji.
This is why Lori is the champion – not because she has a boyfriend who is the reigning Sexiest Man Alive, but because she hasn’t changed because of it. Has actively refused to. Before MBJ, Lori was big on Instagram. Lori was all about splashing herself and her life on Instagram. And just because he’s a bigger deal in Hollywood, she hasn’t had to adapt to him and his fame. Unlike, say, Leonardo DiCaprio, who dates much younger women growing up in the social media era and they end up restricting what they would otherwise presumably post if not for him.
In other Lori and MBJ news, Steve Harvey has weighed in. He talked about them on his radio show on Friday. Per PEOPLE:
"I like this one," Harvey said of the Black Panther star. "I still got my eye on him. I mean I like him, but like I say to all of 'em, 'I might like you, I might approve of you, but I got a thumb-size section of my heart filled with nothing but pure hatred for your ass. Just in case I need it.'"
"Like right now? Nice guy," the Family Feud host continued. "But I got this little section partner, where all I gotta do is click a switch and I can hate your ass."
"'Cause, you ain't the sexiest man in the world to me!" he said "Let's be clear about that."
OK but you’ve seen the memes, right? The Steve Harvey/MBJ side-by-side memes?

Ok. Don’t kill me. But why does Michael B Jordan lowkey look like he could be Steve Harvey’s son? pic.twitter.com/erd6RBujND

Sasha was the one who first pointed this out a while ago in our group. And even though people are saying they can’t “unsee” it… I actually DO NOT see it. Do you?!
